76. Part 2, The Twisted Timeline....What Really Happened In The Closet?
Friday Aug 25, 2023
Friday Aug 25, 2023
In 2016, a police officer receives an alarming text message from his own wife while he is on his way to a waffle house. He rushes home but it appears he is too late as he smells gun smoke and notices a locked closet. He radios police that he has even heard gun shots before he entered the apartment. When police arrive and force open the locked closet door, what they find is a bloodied unconscious woman on the floor; hair saturated in blood and her head placed perfectly on a pillow. The police officers service weapon is discovered under her body.
When the woman is airlifted to hospital and her head is shaved, doctors cannot find a bullet hole injury. It's seemingly more likely that her injury was caused due to blunt force trauma. There is no bullet entry wound to be found.
Will we ever truly know what happened in the closet?

Police dispatch receives a call from one of their own in 2016. The officer tells dispatch that he has just received a distressing text from his wife who is at home with their two children. He is worried she is going to commit suicide and that he is rushing home as he is talking to dispatch.
When police arrive to the officer's home, he is already there waiting outside the apartment. He had previously radioed police and told them he had arrived, heard the baby crying, heard 2 gunshots, unlocked the door and went into their home, smelled gun smoke coming from the locked closet he keeps his gun in and fled the apartment with his police radio which he grabbed from the kitchen to inform the police what the situation was.
Police enter the home and force open the locked closet the gunshots supposedly came from. Inside they find the officers wife.
This was immediately treated as a suicide but there are people asking, was it?

A death row inmate receives a letter one day. The letter reads,
“I did the crime, I murdered the Eastburns. Sorry you’re doin the time. I’ll be safely out of North Carolina when you read this.
Thanks, Mr. X”
This letter is very interesting to the inmate because he is going to be executed for the brutal rape and murder of 31-year-old Kathryn, and the murders of 5-year-old Kara and 3-year-old Erin Eastburn. It's possible this letter could help prove his innocents and save his life......but is he innocent?
This case takes many twists and turns and over 20 years before a final decision is made about the man's guilt.
